0w20 Vs 5w20 Toyota Tundra
My understanding is that the 07 Tundra already comes with full synthetic 0w-20 Toyota oil.
0w20 vs 5w20 toyota tundra. At start up temps 5w will pump down to -30C. Owner had a brand new Tundra probably with the 57l and she was a saleswoman for some oil additive company. If you read your manual it states under high speed or load high speed not defined a higher viscocity can be used.

Same here I have a Lexus RX350 and ironically between the 85 qts for the Tundra and the 65 qts for the Lexus I use exactly 15 qts total when I change the oil for both cars. Whats the difference between SAE 0W-20 and 5W-20 motor. I agree that you should call the dealer out on it and even if the claim the repair order for the oil change states 5w30 is a mistake too bad have them change the oil out again and make dang sure they use 5w20 oil.
5w20 is fine 0w20 is the best for any range as it will flow the easiest in any cold start whether its -10 or 50 outside which is why Toyota probably speced it in the first place. I live in Wyoming and see temperature extremes on both ends. Answer 1 of 11.
So for towing or warmer temperatures or long distance driving when the engine is at full operating temperature it will have a probably marginal benefit over the 0W20. Switching to 5W20 shouldnt hurt your mileage in any way that you would notice. 0W20 and 5W20 are winter-grade oils designed for cold weather.
No harm at all will take place if you use 5W instead of the recommended 0W oil. Conventional oils cant meet the SAE 0W spec 5W oils may be either conventional or synthetic. If your winter temperature is not cold you can use 5w20 synthetic for 10000 miles or 5w20 conventional for 5000.
