2000 toyota tundra coolant leak from timing cover. Timing Cover Leak. The coolant leak was a persistent leak that is evident at the bottomerear of the engine but cant be seen near the top side anywhere. 34L 5VZ-FE Valve Cover Gasket Oil Leak Symptoms.
I dont think its the water pump gasket because I see what I think is. Some folks have had the crankshaft seal replaced and that seems to be leaking a little oil too but I think Ive got a coolant leak coming from behind the alternator and belt tensioner area. The smaller o-ring behind the water pump can get rolled easily if not lubricated during install and leaks seen that several times after water pump replacement on those engines.
The defective timing cover is removed and gasket surfaces are cleaned on engine. Behind all that are nooks and crannys that will collect the coolant enough for the heat from the motor to evaporate it. It is coming from behind the ac compressor I cant tell exactly where its coming from and cant find a engine diagram on line.
