2001 Toyota Tundra Won't Go Over 70 Mph
I am a Toyota tundra owner of a 2011 model that now has 234000 miles on it and still feels new.
2001 toyota tundra won't go over 70 mph. My car vibrates at around 50 mph in the steering wheel as I go faster i feel it in the seat and steering. 50 mph bad vibration started. No observable engine stutters or missing etc.
This morning I got in and the check engine light was on and when I pulled out on a busy street and punched the gas I could not get up to speed. 70 miles per hour I assume you are talking miles must be almost the top speed for a 4 cylinder camry so the engine must be at full load and high speed Although mabe it should be able to cope it is an old engine car and any engine at full load is making a lot of heat - as it burns a lot of fuel. This randomly started happening yesterday while driving home from work.
Use a higher grade of gas. This is my first post on here and its a doozy. Switch to 4 Lo.
The issue is going to be something affecting the motor. In response to yro message. I bet I tried it 50 times.
As I slowed to say 45 mph it got worse if anything then disappears below 40 mph. Truck has ran great up until this point. Also the not revving over 2000 is your car going into limp home mode but whats causing it could be many things maybe theres a short in the button or transmission harness does the engine light come on to signal limp home mode.
I have a P2442 code. I recently took my 2001 Rav4 into my local Toyota garage for a problem with the transmission. I own a 2001 Tundra with 38000 miles and I have used regular unleaded gas since I bought it and now I have been noticing some light knocking at low speeds up to 45 mph.
